Garry Belcourt resident of Dawson Creek British Columbia, formerly of Kelly Lake, British Columbia, left this Earth life for the next peacefully on Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital, at the age of 54 years.

Garry was born March 8, 1969, in Nakusp, BC. He was beloved by all who knew him. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

Garry was always there for those he cared about including the family he chose throughout his life. Garry was a traditional man who didn’t believe in taking shortcuts and prided himself on doing things in a good way, leading with his heart, and sharing his traditional teachings freely and with kindness for all willing to learn.

Our hearts are collectively broken as we mourn the loss of such a great man. His presence will be sincerely missed by his wife Denise; son Josh, daughter Shayne; mother Marjorie; siblings: Gordon, Bev, Dion, Sandra, Beverly, and Conway; and his other family: Lottie, Brenda, Jason, Jory, Casey, and Jevin.

He was a favorite uncle and will be dearly missed by all his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. We love you, Uncle.

May we remind ourselves to trust in the process knowing Garry made this plan before he came, and it was his chosen time for our Creator to call him home. We can take comfort in knowing that the relatives and ancestors lovingly awaited his return and that he will now be watching over us from the spirit world, still laughing and smiling that big, beautiful smile of his.

A Wake will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, at 4:00 pm at Kelly Lake Community Center.

A Traditional Ceremony / Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 6, 2023, at 11:00 am, at the Kelly Lake Community Center.
