Nelson Wanihandi Obituary

Nelson Wanihandi, a heavy machine operator and long-time resident of Horse Lake, Alberta passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Dawson Creek, B.C. at the age of 58 years. Nelson as born in Beaverlodge, Alberta on July 3, 1959. Nelson was a devoted father who enjoyed travelling, music, coffee, and of course operating heavy machinery. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him. Nelson was predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Paul, his maternal grandparents Mary Jane and Alfred, his son Shane, daughter Vanessa, granddaughter Dylan, his uncle David and aunt Vivian, his sister Marilyn and brother Herbert. Nelson is survived by his estranged wife Pamela (Paul), his children; Troy, Darcy, Lorrinda and Waylon, along with his surrogate children; Nancy, Shawna and Lorraine, his brothers; Dave (Tina), Wilfred (Hilda), Clarence (Nancy), and Clay, his sisters; Angie, Linda, Katherine (Mervin) and Darlene, his big uncle Jim, and aunt Eva Chatelain. A Wake was held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 6:00 PM at the Horse Lake Rec Centre. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Horse Lake Rec Centre. Fr. Sylvanus Omali officiated. Interment will be held at a later date. For friends so wishing, donations, flowers and condolences may be offered at the Rec Centre in memory of Nelson.
