Vera Rose Hogg, a lifetime resident of the Hythe area, passed away peacefully at the Beaverlodge Hospital, on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the age of 87 years. Vera was born on November 23, 1934, in Hythe to Bert and Edith Veldhuis. She was the second child of 12. She married Bob on June 21, 1955. For a few years, she followed him to work camps before settling at the Borden Estates in Valhalla in 1959, and then to Hythe in 1970. Vera is survived by and will be sadly missed by her children: Sid (Carol), Jim (Carrie), Alex (Janice), Gail, Ross (Trudy), and their families. Vera will be missed by her 10 siblings, and their families as well as the Hogg In-laws. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Bob, and daughter-in-law Sarah Hogg, son-in-law Rob Fraser as well as brother Danny. A memorial service for Vera Hogg will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, at the Hythe Legion at 11:00 am.
