Kelly Lee, a long time resident of Hythe, Alberta, formerly of Bear Canyon, Alberta, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 surrounded by family in Grande Prairie, Alberta at the age of 87 years. Kelly was the eldest child of Lloyd and Nellie Lee. He attended school in Beaverlodge and graduated in 1944. He later went on to the University of Alberta where he received his Bachelor of Education. Kelly taught in Bear Canyon from 1970 to 1987 when he semi-retired and began working with home and auto insurance. In 1993, Kelly and Rita moved to Hythe and retired. He enjoyed sharing knowledge and valued education. Although he couldn't tell a joke. He was interested in hockey, curling, golf and square dancing. Kelly played for the Hythe Mustangs, along with Peace River and Spirit River. Kelly was a part of Kinsmen in Fairview and the Masonic Lodge in Hythe. A Memorial Service was held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Hythe Royal Canadian Legion Branch 93. Jim Lee officiated. Interment will be at a later date.
