Ruth Mae Breitkreutz, a resident of La Glace, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the age of 65 years. Ruth was born on August 5, 1948 to William (Alvin) and Jessie (nee White) Delaney of Tupper, British Columbia. Ruth was the fourth of six children and the eldest daughter of the family. Ruth married her "blind date", Alvin Breitkreutz on Novemeber 29, 1969 and together they moved to Wembley to raise their family. As her children grew, Ruth found employment at the Wembley Town Office where she worked until she became a Grandma. With the children grown, Ruth and Alvin first moved to an acreage in the Bezanson area and later moved to La Glace, where she resided until the time of her passing. Ruth is predeceased by: her parents, William (Alvin) and Jessie Delaney; her eldest brother James Delaney; in-laws: Hermann and Emilia Breitkreutz; and brother-in-law Bryan Breitkreutz. Ruth is survived by: her loving husband of 44 years, Alvin of La Glace, AB; her children: Jody (Stan) Sewell of Valhalla Centre, AB; and Jason (Michelle) Breitkreutz of Clairmont, AB; grandchildren Jon Sewell and Hayley Breitkreutz; brothers: Mel (Gail) Delaney of Sylvan Lake, AB; Garry (Carol) Delaney of Kamloops, B.C.; Dan Delaney of Barriere, B.C.; her sister Cleora (Larry) Stokes of Calgary, AB; and sister-in-law Wendy Breitkreutz of Grande Prairie, AB. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration of Ruth's Life was held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the Glen Leslie Cemetery (Hwy 670, RR40 east of Grande Prairie, AB). Kevin Throness officiated.
