Obituary of David Stanley Juneau
Dave Juneau, a long time resident of Hythe, Alberta passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at home with family by his side at the age of 77 years. Dave was born on May 19, 1938 in Grande Prairie, Alberta. He resided on the family farm west of Hythe his entire life. The farm and family were his world. Dave's love for life was expressed in farming, welding, mechanic work, his family and his friends. He was very involved in the construction of the Tack Shop and Cabin move to Hythe, the relocation and renovation of the old Hythe Hospital, and he was an on call maintenance man for the Hythe Pioneer Home in Hythe for 42 years, as well as working at the Beaverlodge Research Station for 25 years before farming fulltime. Dave was predeceased by his parents Henry and Mae Juneau, his parents-in-law Art and Kozey Ellingboe, his brothers Sanford and Alfred Juneau, his sister Betty Ryan, his brothers-in-law Kevin Ryan, Lee Hightower, and Lyle Penson. Dave is survived by his wife of 53 years Arta Juneau, his children: Michael Juneau, Nikki Juneau, Merlin (Willa) Juneau, Colin (Diella) Juneau, and Loretta Juneau, his sisters Lorraine Hightower of Oklahoma City, Lois (Stan) Podulsky of Sherwood Park, and Josephine Penson of Grovedale, his brothers Francis (Joy) Juneau, and Richard (Carol) Juneau, his sisters and brothers-in-law: Bessie (Bob) Watson, and Gloria (Gordon) Bulley, Alton (Edie) Ellingboe, James (Dorothy) Ellingboe, Denis (Marilyn) Ellingboe, and Kerry (Yvonne) Ellingboe, his grandchildren: Trent Lacey, Nile Juneau, Faith Juneau, Jacob Pariseau, Brandon Henke, Taylor (Jaynee), Cassie, Merissa and Keegan Juneau, Hayden and Jason Bisson, Vanessa and Kiana Shinners, and his one great grandson, Adam, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many friends. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Hythe Legion. Reverend Terry Hatfield officiated. A private interment was held in the Riverview Cemetery. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of David to the Hythe Pioneer Homes Foundation, Hythe AB T0H 2C0, for the restoration of the old Hythe Hospital.
