Nellie Gerow, a lifelong resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta went home to glory with her sister Fay by her side on Monday, November 23, 2015 in Grande Prairie at the age of 86 years. Nellie was born on June 2, 1929 and was the oldest daughter to George and Isabel Watson. Nellie was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, her son George, sisters: Bernice, Shirley, Georgina, and Christina, along with her parents George and Isabel. Nellie leaves behind to celebrate her life, her daughter Ann (Lawrence) Hosker, daughter-in-law Marlowe Gerow, grandchildren: Shawn (Connie) Gerow, Sandi (Dennis) Evens, Michael (Lorraine) Gerow, and Bryan Hosker, great grandchildren: Haley, Lane, Cassie, Dakota, Jeryn, and Aleks, step great grandchildren: Lydia, Katee, and Emma, along with her sisters Fay (Lyle) Gerow, and Sharon (Ken) Oman, brother-in-law Keith (Pat) Gerow, sister-in-law Ollie Defresne, and long time friend Sandy Sandul, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank the Emerald Gardens staff for their years of caring for Nellie, also Dr. Duplessis and the staff of 3 North at the QEII Hospital for their compassion shown to “Miss Nellie”. A Memorial Service was held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Grande Prairie Golden Age Centre, 10222-101st Avenue, Grande Prairie. Pastor Ella Loberg officiated. Interment followed in the City of Grande Prairie Cemetery.
