Obituary of Margaret Patricia Parker

Margaret “Peggy” Parker, a resident of Hythe, Alberta passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in Hythe at the age of 81 years. After a long battle with various health conditions, we are saddened to announce the passing of our Mom, Nanny,Nana,Super Nana, Auntie Peggy, who was born in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. Peggy spent most of her life in B.C.’s lower mainland and lived her final days in Hythe. An avid Canucks fan, Peggy also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, John Wayne movies, history, and knitting. She was known for being strong-willed, stubborn and some referred to her as 'salty'. Nothing was more important than her grandchildren, whom she loved tormenting with her country and bagpipe music. A warm, grateful thank you to Doris and Jim Wanke, Hythe Pioneer Homes (especially Brandy, Betty, Johnny, and Janeen), Dr. Presley, Beaverlodge Home Care, and everyone who helped Mom make the most of her final days. She was predeceased by her parents Mary Joan (Cook) and Alexander MacIntosh Hutcheon, as well as siblings Donald, George, and Marion. Peggy is survived by her children Dawn Marie Parker, Timothy (Brenda) Parker, Carole (Jim) Laite, Gary (Tina) Parker, and Megan (Viktor) Brumovsky; grandchildren Scott, Daniel, Kristyne, Nicole, Tami, Jeffrey, Alexander, Jaime, Kyle, Lindsey, Frederick and Sylvia; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; her sister Inamae (Neil) Glazier; along with numerous nieces and nephews. No formal funeral service will be held. For friends so wishing, donations may be made in memory of Peggy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (Alberta, NWT & Nunavut 100-119 14 Street NW Calgary, Alberta T2N 1Z6), Canadian Cancer Society (Alberta/Northwest Territories Division 200-325 Manning Road NE Calgary, AB T2E 2P5), or to the Hythe Pioneer Homes Foundation (PO Box 388 Hythe, AB T0H2C0). Go rest high on that mountain. Mom, your work on earth is done. Very Respectfully Beaverlodge Funeral Service
