Melvin Ferris, a long time resident of Hythe, Alberta passed away with family by his side on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in Beaverlodge, Alberta at the age of 95 years. Melvin was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Louise, his parents Herbert and Maude, his brothers; Elmer, Cliff, Lawrence, Harvey, and Donald, his sisters; Gladys, Isabel, and Eileen, his grandsons Chad Wells and Tyler Tofteland, and his granddaughter Karmen Willis. Melvin is survived by his daughters; Lynn (Jack) Wells, Patsy (Morris) Tofteland, Barbara (Ged) Willis, Gailene (Dan) Braun, his sons; Brent (Debbie) Ferris, Randy (Denise) Ferris, 22 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, his sister-in-law Jean, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Hythe Royal Canadian Legion Branch 93. Pastor Ella Loberg officiated.
