Jean Rueckert, a long time resident of Beaverlodge, Alberta passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014 in Beaverlodge at the age of 83 years. Jean was born on April 23, 1931 to Florence and Charlie Smith, the eighth of ten children. She married Dooley Rueckert in 1948 and lived and worked her entire life in the area, but had a thirst to see the world and travelled extensively throughout North America. She remained active until her brief illness and curled her last bonspiel at the Elmworth Closing this spring. She enjoyed the activities and friendship at the Lossing Senior Centre. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Ken (Joann), and Linda (Tom); grandchildren, Shane (Nicole), Leslie (Rob), Kris, and Cameron (Amanda); great grandchildren, Kieran, Kinsee, Dayson, Cale, Taylor, and her one remaining sibling, Alvin (Mike) Smith. Jean's life was celebrated on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Rio Grande Hall with friends and family. Interment will be at a later date.
