Obituary of Ella Loberg

Ella Loberg, resident of Valhalla Centre, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the age of 72 years, into the presence of her Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ. Ella was born in LeRoy, Saskatchewan on September 25, 1948 to Berthold and Ella Weiss. After the death of her mother, Berthold married Erna, and they raised their family on the farm near Jansen, SK. After graduating from Camrose Lutheran Bible Institute, Ella headed to Fort St. John, BC to begin fulfilling her pastoral calling as the Parish Assistant at Peace Lutheran Church. While in Fort St. John, Ella met David Loberg. In 1969, Ella and David were married and together they farmed side by side until his passing in 2010. They were blessed with two children and raised them to love the Lord and the land. During these years, Ella’s calling continued with whatever the Lord led her to do within the church communities of the Peace Country, and later, in her service as Pastor of Valhalla Church until her retirement in 2015. Even then, her faithful commitment to Jesus continued through various roles until her final promotion to Glory. Ella exemplified strength through her kind, gentle, consistent ways and she walked in humility, facing even the most difficult circumstances with grace and dignity. Though Ella will be sorely missed, she finished her race well and her legacy will live on in the hearts and lives of her family and friends. Ella will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Sonja (Duane) Loberg-Paulson; son Daniel (Christine) and her precious grandchildren Evan, Abby, Sarah, and Jude Loberg; step-mother Erna Weiss; sisters Nelda Issel and Rhonda (Darren) Burback and their families; brothers Walter, Victor (Marg), Bruno (Marj) and Mervin (Debbie) Weiss and their families; brother-in-law Laverne Larsen and his family; brother-in-law Ralph Loberg and his family; and numerous friends. Memorials may be directed to Mexico Mission Orphanage (Foundation for HIS Ministry), LAMP Canada, Compassion of Canada, or World Mission Prayer League Canada, or a charity of your choice. Ella’s family expresses their deep gratitude for the many prayers, phone calls, cards, flowers, food, and tributes of love shown to them during this time. Thank you to Beaverlodge Home Care and Dr. Mumert for your kindness and compassion. God bless each one of you. Very Respectfully, Beaverlodge Funeral Service.
