Obituary of Anne Bartsch
Anne Bartsch, resident of Hythe, AB, formerly of Lymburn, AB, passed away to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, December 11, 2023, at Hythe Continuing Care. At the age of 87 years.
Anne was born November 11, 1936, in Gem, AB, to John and Justina Lowen. She later moved to Lymburn. There she grew up with her seven siblings.
Anne married Jake Bartsch on November 24, 1956. She worked hard alongside her husband to make a life for themselves and their family. In 1957, Elma was born, followed by Ernie in 1960. Marilyn completed the family in 1963. Anne and Jake celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Anne will always and lovingly be remembered by her husband Jake; her children: Elma (Harvey) Mackie, Ernie (Cathy) Bartsch, and Marilyn (George) Funk; grandchildren: Miranda (Cody) Brown, Dayleen (Jeff) Stewart, Jolene Tod, Loyd Bartsch, Deanna (Ryan) Funk, and Kelsey (Travis) DeSchipper; great-grandchildren: Chase Siemens, Nate Siemens, Cayden Stewart, Garret Stewart, Evelyn Tod, Jacqueline Tod, Audrey Tod, Henry DeSchipper, and Marlowe Funk; sisters: Tina Pierson, and Margaret (Jake) Peters; brothers: David (Shirley) Lowen, and Frank (Trudi) Lowen; in-laws: Marie Lowen, Torger Torgerson, Tina (Ole) Bakkehaug, Arnold Ladwig, Susie Bartsch, and David (Ivy) Bartsch; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Anne was predeceased by her parents John and Justina Lowen; brothers: Henry Lowen and George Lowen; sisters: Mary Torgerson and infant sister Maria Lowen; granddaughter Jessica Funk; grandson Kelly Siemens; great-grandchild Taylor August, and in-laws George and Aganetha Bartsch.
A Viewing will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, at Beaverlodge Funeral Service (1103 7th Ave W).
An Interment will be held Monday, December 18, 2023, at 11:30 am, at the Salem Mennonite Cemetery, Lymburn. Pastor Ria Millwater to Officiate. Celebration of Life to follow at 1:00 pm, at the Hythe Legion (9818 100 Ave). Luncheon to follow.
