Obituary of Ken Rueckert
With profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth Julius Rueckert, aged 71, of Beaverlodge, Alberta.
Ken was born in Beaverlodge to parents Julius (Dooley) and Jean Rueckert. Other than a short stint of living in Grande Prairie, his life was lived in the Beaverlodge area.
He started his working career at Canfor, followed by 25 years at the Weyerhaeuser pulp mill. During those years, he obtained his millwright and machinist tickets. He then found his niche as an instructor in the millwright program at the Grande Prairie Regional College. This was his passion, and he found great satisfaction in sharing his extensive knowledge.
Ken married his high school sweetheart in 1974, and they had two sons.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 52 years, Joann (née Carlstad); son Kristopher and his children, Keiran, Kinsee (Jordan), and Dason; son Cameron (Amanda Lussier) and their daughter, Mackenzie; along with his only sibling, Linda (Tom) Cramer. Also mourned by sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law, and his faithful canine companion, Babe.
A private family gathering will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
