Peter George Joachim, a resident of Horse Lake First Nation, AB, passed away in Beaverlodge, AB, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at the age of 73 years.

Peter was born on February 5, 1953, in Hythe, AB, to Mary Davis. He was raised in Horse Lake First Nation and attended St. Mary's School in Beaverlodge through Grade 9. He completed Grades 10 through 12 in Dawson Creek, BC, and later furthered his education by taking small engine repair courses.

Throughout his life, Peter was a hardworking man who took pride in his work. He worked as a hunting guide, served as a Band Council member for Horse Lake First Nation, owned and operated a landscaping company, and most recently worked as an Environmental Monitor.

Family was everything to Peter. He was a traditional healer who cared deeply for those around him and was always willing to share his knowledge and wisdom. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, camping, spending time with his horses, playing bingo, visiting the casino, and Skidooing.

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Doreen Joachim; his children, Joy Joachim, Trudy Joachim, Crystal (Tony) Anderson, Reg (Diana) Hambler, and Jeff Napesis; his grandchildren, Steven Horseman, Jerico Joachim, Brent Joachim, Cole Joachim, Cashis Joachim, Clayton Joachim, Travis Joachim, Monica Joachim, Kaitlyn Joachim, Austin Joachim, Isaiah Joachim, Parrish Buholzer, Michael (Alyssa) Horseman Jr., Shaylene Erhardt, and Deacon Joachim; and his great-grandchildren, Taz, Ava, Mia, Nixon, Kaia, Zoey, Emma, Phoenix, and Rosalee; Phillip (Valerie) Joachim; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Peter was predeceased by his mother, Mary Davis; his son, Brent Joachim; and his granddaughters, Allicia Joachim and Sunset Joachim.

A viewing and prayers will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Horse Lake First Nation Arena. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 p.m., after which family and friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon.
