It is with heavy hearts that the family of Beverly “Bev” McCallum announces her passing to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the age of 82 years.

Bev was born to parents Orville and Vesta Berg on September 29, 1943, in Grande Prairie, AB. She was raised on a farm in Peoria, AB, and during the winters, wherever her parents could find work at sawmills. Her favourite place to be was on her Grandma Hagel’s knee.

In her teens, Bev took a job in Spirit River, where she met the love of her life, Willy. After the birth of their first son, they moved to Hythe and raised their five children. She loved her children, but she absolutely adored her grandchildren and her “little people.” She was lovingly known as GG Bev. She loved shopping with the little girls and wished she could still climb trees when the boys asked her this summer.

Left to mourn the matriarch of our family are her children: Todd and Bonnie McCallum, Patti and Sheldon Shura, Lynne and Clint Marshall, and Stacey Schuett; her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Brad and Ally Shura, Kaitlyn Marshall, Brandon and Katie Rouble, Kelsey and Andrew Hudson, Tyson and Jayden McCallum, Brett Schuett, Ryan McCallum, Payton and Stephanie Marshall, and Riley Schuett; and GG Bev’s lights of her life, her great-grandchildren: Addyson, James, and Christian Marshall, Maurlee Shura, and Brynleigh Marshall.

She was predeceased by her parents, Orville and Vesta; her in-laws, Pat and Mina; her husband, Willy; her grandson, Nolan; and her son, Mark.

As per Bev’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A small family gathering will take place in the summer of 2026.
