Shelly Rhein, resident of Beaverlodge, AB, formerly of Grande Prairie, AB, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 65 years.
Shelly was born on May 10, 1960, in Biggar, SK, the second child of Bruce and Frances Hart. During her early years, the family moved to Dawson Creek, BC, where Shelly and her siblings were raised.
Shelly had a kind and gentle heart, earning her the nickname “the baby whisperer” for her natural ability to soothe and connect with infants and small animals alike. Her warmth and compassion touched everyone she met. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a special fondness for flowers, drawn to their quiet beauty and the joy they brought, much like the joy she brought to others simply by being herself.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Ken Rhein; children: Karla (Waylon), Danielle (Lars), Amanda (Chris), Jessica, Jennifer, and Elizabeth (Clint); grandchildren: Kaylyn (Jason), Crai (Avery), Teagan, Autumn, Riley, Payton, Emmett, Ruby, and Rowan; brothers Warren, and Greg (Diana); nieces Alysha, and Sarah; nephews Tyrell, and Adam.
Shelly was predeceased by her son Craig and parents, Bruce and Fran.
A Graveside Service for Shelly will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Brookside Cemetery (108 Ave and 5 St), in Dawson Creek, BC.
