Alvina Sandboe, resident of Pearson Place in Hythe, AB, formerly of Valhalla Centre, AB, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the Beaverlodge Hospital, with her family by her side, at the age of 93 years.

Alvina will be sadly missed by her children: Marilyn (Eldon) Cassity, Terry Sandboe, Debbie Sandboe (Rob Pitts), and daughter-in-law Trudy Sandboe; grandchildren: Edward (Norene) Gillespie, Derek Gillespie, Krystal Burke, Jeremy Sandboe (Naomi), Cole (Amy) Sandboe, Bradley (Tasey) Sandboe, Michelle (Grant) Pellegrin, and Melanie (Riley) Johnson; great-grandchildren: Destiny, Skye, Asiah, Levi, Lucas, Easton, Jaxon, Willow, Madison, Dayton, Deklen, Reid, Zoey, Kaleb, Dawson, Rhys (Kealan), and Avery; sister Doreen Robinson; sister-in-law Yvonne Sandboe; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd Sandboe, her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law; her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Murry Gillespie; her son, Barry Sandboe, grandson-in-law, Jeff Burke, her granddaughter-in-law, Melanie Gillespie, her brother and his wife, Marvin (Louise) Vatne, 8 brothers-in-law; and 6 sisters-in-law.

The family would like to thank all the staff and homecare nurses at Pearson Place and Pioneer Home in Hythe. The nurses and Dr. Scrutton at the Beaverlodge Hospital for their care and compassion. They went above and beyond caring for Alvina.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at the Hythe Legion. A light lunch and refreshments to be served.
